In 2004, Scouts BSA launched the initiative “Do a Good Turn.” Scouts across the country have devoted more than three million hours of service to the needy—and
they’re not done yet!

Our scout pack has also done several community service projects together. Some of the community service projects we have done are: water newly planted trees, pulled invasive plants in the Santa Monica mountains, helped at an Easter egg hunt, helped other kids decorate cookies, sang Holiday Songs for people at an assisted living center, made care packages for children and many other things.

Talk to your family or trusted adults about “helping other people at all times”. What does it mean to you? Come up with ideas of how you can help people. You can donate food to a pantry, hold the door open for someone, or write a nice note for someone. Hope you come up with something your family can do. Then of course do it!

Keep on Scouting
