How to register your child for Cub Scouts online!

We have consolidated the application process as much as possible but there are a couple of steps you will need to take to register completely.

  • Register with the pack by filling out the form linked below. This form will have instructions for how to register with the national BSA (Boy Scouts of America) organization as well.  You will have to register with BSA and pay their fees separately from the pack fees.

  • The pack leadership will contact you via email with additional meeting and pack information.

Costs Of Scouting

Registration Fees:

Scout fees are broken down into 3 categories.

  1. National BSA – these fees are used by the BSA organization to register your scouts in their system and provide insurance.
  2. Council – Council fees go to the western Los Angeles council and are also used for insurance as well as to help fund some of the local camp facilities and other administrative costs of scouts.
  3. Unit  (Our Pack) – These fees are the only fees that go to the pack to fund our program.  The fees are used to purchase advancement awards, meeting supplies, cover camping fees, and much more.

All fees are based on a calendar year per scout and are prorated based on the month of joining.

Additional Fees

In addition to the registration fees, there are some other costs that will come up as part of scouting.

    • Scout Uniforms:  Scouts will need at least a scout shirt and the applicable patches, a rank-specific hat, and a neckerchief.  A full uniform will also include pants (blue to match the blue shirts or olive green for Webelos), a scout belt, and scout socks (if the scout is wearing shorts).  The full uniform can be purchased from the scout shop listing on page 1.  Most of our scout events do not require a full uniform but there are some events that our pack attends that do require a full uniform.
  • Pack T-Shirts: The pack has what we call, “Class-B” t-shirts.  These are shirts that we wear usually when doing outings such as camping and hiking.  They are t-shirts that all match so we can easily identify scouts, but when our full scout uniform is not required.  We have a few options for shirts and they range from $15-$20.
  • Camping Costs: We do two family camps a year.  The camp fees are part of registration but we do collect money for food for each person attending camp.  Usually, costs are $20-$25 per person for the weekend.
  • Personal Gear:  If you do not have personal camping gear you may need to get sleeping bags, ground pads/cots, tents, or other camping gear.  Pack 777 does not have camping supplies, but many families in the pack have extra that they can sometimes lend out.

Special Events: Occasionally our pack does some special events such as Zoo sleepovers, USS Iowa sleepovers, Museum tours, scout ski day,  etc.  These events will have additional costs and families will be made aware of those costs when signing up to attend.
